Having been with West Ham United since he was eleven, Junior Stanislas has had plenty of time to impress all at the club with his natural ability.
Wider attention came during the 2007/08 campaign when he was selected for the England Under-19 friendly in Germany on 14 November. It was no more than he deserved after some sparkling form for the Under-18 side and the reserves - with that month also bringing a two-goal show for the second string in an 8-0 win away to Derby County.
A south Londoner from Kidbrooke, Stanislas is not just about pace and power on the ball - particularly from wide positions - he also has a fine shot from distance and has good set-piece skills. Described by Tony Carr as "a goal-maker who can really damage defences", Stanislas could yet go on to realise his dream of making it to the first team. A foot injury frustrated him at the start of 2008 but he was soon back in action.
He cites Kaka as the player he would most like to play against and would love to get to play at Anfield before Liverpool move to pastures new. Born on 26 November 1989, Stanislas, nicknamed Ju or Jr, is not too young that he does not remember Paolo Di Canio and cites the legendary Italian as his all-time favourite Hammer. He was part of Alan Curbishley's first-team squad that travelled to North American for the 2008/09 pre-season tour.
